They are addressed to husband and wife O. and Elizabeth Walls of Thomaston, Georgia. The letters describe in crude fashion the scenes and fashions in the Ansleys' new home.

Josephus R. Ansley, born November 14, 1826, was the youngest child of Thomas Ansley Jr. He married Gilly R. Richardson on February 21, 1849 in Upson County, Georgia. Elizabeth G.
